Pieces of information that you don't hear through the media. A Judeo-Christian perspective on current events.

Presenting all aspects

New Concepts and ideas

information in general

It´s all important and good to see what happened around the Wourl. I´m so happy to have news about you, thank.

Covers so many subjects. Keeps us current. Topics on religious leaders.

Issues that explore faith and its impact on the mundane (politics, science, vocation, etc)

I appreciate articles that make me think about my own faith and beliefs. I appreciate articles that do not preach to me but encourage me to examine my faith and beliefs.

I like the intelligent worldview which logically views everything from a personal creation perspective... and which researches and responds to current trends.

The commitment to traditional values.

The main article that gets right to the point.

The insight offered.

Fact based and concise

relevancy

I'm a news junkie, so find tothesource useful in providing different perspectives on contemporary events, and in drawing my attention to some news items which I might have missed in other magazines or e-zines.

links to further information

Timeliness. They seem to address issues and problems that we face in real life.

The perspective.

Letting us know what is true and what is not, since most news sources only publish what they want you to know, not necessarily the truth.

conservative nature

Thought provoking

very informative with information not likely to be accessed in most news and news analysis sources. It gives teeth to conservative values and issues. Helps us refine our viewpoints and arguments against the left.

Links to different related articles and points of view. Also like the reader feedback (responses to previous articles) at the end.

good news, christian news, acrrate reporting.

would like to read much about the religion and the economics.

They are informative,as is intended.

The related articles are a great way to fill out the articles' limited scope.

The depth of the thinking expressed by the authors. Also, I enjoy the reader responses.

tONGUE IN CHEEK MATERIAL

How in depth they are

I have just started getting your articles recently so do not feel that I can evaluate

They provide informative details you don't otherwise get from mainstream reporting. I'm a minister and often find good illustrations from tothesource articles.

The very best scholarship is evident in most cases; the articles are timely.

Some of the articles are just right but some which have no appeal to me tend to be too lengthy. Too many details.

We enjoy crisp reviews of current culture.

The overall picture seems to come out. Appreciate the information. Bill

The in-depth format of the comments

historical background. also, what looks like to me is a catholic twist. as a protestant, it helps me to see thru someone elses eyes.

to the point on stories

I'm not a news hound, so it gives a good perspective on current topics.

Topical, thoughtful

The strong Christian perspective, always critically thought out. Lots of food for thought.

They are thought-provoking and thorough - give viewpoints you don't always see in other places.

Provocative, non-ax-grinding view of contemporary culture

Having a lot of related information from the side bars. By the way, I not only read these, but I print them out and my wife faithfully reads them too.

Christian perspective on world events

That they cover religion and current issues.

The relevant topics always keep me informed

Up to date info. with a Christian world view

I like the untrimmed truth

informative readers responses

Open discussion of controversial issues

Subject matter not always found elsewhere, plus the in-depth treatment.

not much

NewsHub is a good addition. However, I realize you are beginning and will prefect its layout. I suggest that the Reglious news be given priority and shown first. Next, your links with the article tease should have some separation to allow discernment where one begins and ends.

Christian view of science

Honest, relevant commentaries. At times they may get a little on the long side, but very explicit and informative.

There's a wide scope. You offer intelligent Christian viewpoints and those of many who seem to value truth over popularity and political correctness. I really value your reporting. Balanced and engaging.

The variety and timeliness.

It is good to read your point of veiw and it causes people to think that in fact is the strenth of your news letter... Trying to find the Spirit...

Thoughtfulness and general objectivity with polemics kept to a minimum.

The articles appear to be well researched, devoid of the usual "sound bytes" that many people appear to puppet when arguing or defending a position.

Thoughtful Christian Worldview

Measured approach to issues. Moderation.

Their depth.

Conservative and intelligent perspective.

Relevance, the informatio they contain, and the generally insightful analysis.

A number of the articles are on subjects I had not thought much about.

Covers current topics.

deeper than most thinking from a Christian perspective

When issues of Biblical justice for the poor and oppressed are addressed as well as issues of Biblical righteousness.

timeliness, depth and writing style

The fact that they present a clear understanding of the issues at hand.

Concise and to the point

Thought provoking discourse on relevant topics.

Get the real scoop on the story! The truth!

THE OBJECTIVE PERSPECTIVE - "JUST THE FACTS'' AND THEN PUTTING THEM IN LIGHT OF A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE

all social justice

Usually these seem to have valid facts--not just opinions, although there are some reflected.

information is reliable, positions taken are well thought-out, reasoning is logical and based on biblical absolutes

It is obvious the writers have given careful thought to both enduring principles and current issues and sought to relate them.

I appreciate the wide range of topics, as well as the concise and understandable approach to getting at the heart of an issue. Also appreciate the related sidebars. The articles provide a wealth of information on subjects of importance. Thank you.

That they cover current issues. That there are responses.

They delve deeply into the subject. I usually print them until I have the time to read and study them.

Relevance to current events, a balanced thought out perspective. This is the only email newsletter I actually consistently read

The way in which they adress current issues that are a topic of conversation with peers.

Gives a prespective that I may not have thought about.

I really have not enjoyed them lately

relevant, concise, worldview

Like the way you format a brief synopsis of other stories on the side bar so that you can click on those you're interested in and leave the others - great for busy people!

Most are very timely and are helpful in keeping me up to speed with society.

Written by people with credability...

Well resoureced, authoritative, relevant

They give you a thumnail sketch of what is happening so you can investigate further if you are interested.

I like the way the articles approach the issues without an agenda to be polically correct. Truth is not always polically correct and I want to know the truth. Thanks!

like the information given. the revelance of the articles. good content.

The insight into our culture's views.

The breadth of topics and attempts to respond from a biblical basis to contempory issues and culture.

I like the Christian based articles.

I think you do a great job! Keep it up. I have recommended your newsletter to many friends and family.

I enjoy the articles most that deal with cultural phenomena. I became aware of you when the Passion came out. I am very surprised that you haven't done anything with Revenge of the Sith.

The information contained

Well-focused on one topic at a time. Contemporary interest to evangelicals like me (e.g., I.D. debate, homosexual agenda, abortion issues, new medical ethics issues, review and reflection of media trends, persecution of Christians, etc.).

Christian perspective on national and world events.

I enjoy the thoughtful perspective in most of the articles.

The way you cover the details of each subject and back-up, or verify your facts. That does make the articles lenghty, but don't cut viatal information just to shorten an article!

Providing information you don't see on the liberal news channels.

they are so current

Information is excellant.

They provided a different viewpoint to what is going on than the mainstream media

Hearing from a different, Christian perspective.

I love learning so I like it all

The in-depth perspective, the fresh look at interesting and important topics, the relevance...

Short but clear

I have no idea how I got on your list but I do take time to read most of what is sent. I get lots of stuff that I do not read but I have found yours in particular to be very good. I like that much of what I read does not seem to have a particular adgenda- other than the truth.

Reasoned, logical, biblical perspective. Ease of understanding.

I appreciate you bringing my attention to relevant issues and offering balanced commentary on them. Good use of external sources for supporting or opposing arguments, quotes and links.

Getting information and reasoned discourse that I'll never find in the mainstream or secular press, especially the only major metro paper here, the Boston Globe. Also, the timeliness of the topics.

timely topics

In depth look at a subject. The new look at available material looks interesting, but I have not taken time to look at it closely. I am too new to give you good answers.

Sidebars and photos.

variety of topics

Short and concise. Easy to read and right on target

I mainly skim the headlines and read only what interests me.

Usually enough to digest and stimulate thought.

I appreciate the fact that you take into account people whose opinion would not be qualified as evangelical. It helps broaden my perspective and get me thinking.

Christian intelligent answers to "pagan" philosophy

Their professionalism, spiritual aspects and frankness. Your articles are the best around.

I appreciate the thought-provoking attempt to relate Christianity to culture.

The content of the articles, is when I can read them, excellent.

I like the thoughtful articles and then the related articles that are in the side bars

Fair, not inflammatory, on important issues and intelligent.

introduction the bullet points, The conlusion

conservative perspective

easy to read

The way in which a subject is debated and discussed.

Sometimes the length is a bit overwhelming so the summary at the start helps engage me.

Variety of writers. Side bars. Connections.

I simply like the wealth of information - keep up the awesome work. You guys get information and are up on current issues that pastor like me don't always have the time to research. Thanks again

Good, vast selection

current events & interesting stories I also enjoy the comments from readers

Topical nature

Overview of the topic (historical and current context, trends, range of opinions, etc.).

relevance engaging style

Perspective

Which aspects of the articles do you like least?

Sometimes I don't get enough time to read them as thoroughly as I like.

Some topics in which I am not interested

none

Can't say for now . . . just keep lifting up the banner of God's truth in all things

That I have to jog my screen around a lot to see one side of the article and then get back to the other side of the article. I'm probably just a poor internet user who doesn't know how to remedy this.

The articles that are continued and I have to click to move to another area to read. I generally don't do this unless the title has caught my attention.

Can't think of anything

having trouble accessing links

Can't think of a thing.

None yet.

None

actually, none is going to be regeted if possible.

No answer

None that I can think of at the moment.

calture

Only sometimes are they too long, but then again I greatly appreciate the thoroughness of the articles.

[ditto]

nothing

Can't think of anything I dislike in the least!

I read because I like the format and content, not because I don]'t like it!!!

Have considered

some responses are a bit off the path ...

Not applicable.

some news not available in other sources.

Nothing comes to mind.

I have found the "responses" section to be innane and very narrow minded, representing a small minority of fundamentalist sentiments.

We want to have more dirrect definition of how the current issue relates to a Christian world view.

n/a

stregnths can also be weakness.

??

Sometimes push particular agenda eg creation theology

The "printable version" is not laid out well. Portions of articles get cut off. Articles within the article get cut off. Those 2 text boxes below this comment section have print that is way too small to read!

Can't think of anything.

Some of them are radical right wing, not just conservative. Way, way too right for this religious middle-of-the-roader.

?

Cant think of anything specific

I'd like to see more attention to practical responses and action points so that people can move from information to transformation as the Spirit leads.

your ultra-conservative viewpoint -- trying to ram your distorted view of christianity down everyone's throat. You should be preaching religious tolerance--not trying to legislate your particular flavor of Christianity!

More information on the Magesterium of the Church would add balance to the content. While it is good to know what does not appear in our local media (TV and Newspapers) it is still better to know those items that appear in Zenit.org. Greater access to articles that reflect Church Teaching is needed by all persons.

theater-related commentary

No problems so far. Excellent site. Good articles.

?

Nothing major at this time.

When there are elements of stridency. This is our Father's world, no need to panic.

I can't think of any.

Sometimes the content is very American. I have no problems with references to American institutions such as the Supreme Court, but I feel it is unnecessary to assume al the readers are American (for example, when 'we experience' clearly means 'Americans experience').

Some of the acrticles seem to long and wordy. Like the facts served straight up, then give me the comentary.

When you seem blind to God's judgements about US policies when you render judgements about the policies of other nations and parties.

The articles are very good. I just wish I had more time to read them and related articles. Keep up the good work!

None! All is good!

i like everything except too long articles i don't have timeto read

Too lengthy, and I have to enlarge the size of the type to be readable for myself.

satisfied with all aspects

Sometimes statements are made without much substantiation or backup info - and yet that may well be a produce of the "length" issue raised earlier.

Constant promotion of Christianity and ignoring other religions. Total subservience to the consrvative agenda of George Bush despite the record of this administration in cutting benefits to the poor and education that would make America competitive again.

Some of the authors are a bit too biased.

Sometimes a little over the top. Also seems to be a definite political leaning. Personally think that neither party has all the right answers.

too much fluff, I feel manipulated, as if I am being told what to think instead of being presented information so that I can form my own opinion

like them all

Sometimes it would be better to have just a teaser to click to.

Neat, concise

I am not sure that I have a least favorite aspect. You are doing a great job.

none

None

None really.

At times some of the arguments constructed in the articles demonstrate a blind spot to obvious and valid criticism, suggesting that the writer is unfamiliar with, or ignorant of the opposing point of view. In almost every case, I agree with the article, but wish the case had been better made.

Sometimes confusing because of my lack of knowledge.

n/a

None

No complaints.

so far there isnt anything I dont like I dont always agree but I like reading it all

Some can be a little too long or belabor a point

Some seem biased - incomplete

The articles run a little long for my email attention span but I wouldn't want to see you shorten them.

Although I like your Christian-based view, I think your conservativism occasionally leads you astray, as in your support of the pre-emptive war in Iraq, which to many like myself seems a terrible transgression against Gospel values.

Time to read your material.

The viewpoiint is sometimes too narrow.

Would like links in the article related more closely to the topic.

The articles reflect the American Culture and often appear to give a distorted picture from what I get from other sources here in Australia.

There are always points which indicate either an American bias or even, sometimes, disrespect but that is "the nature of the beast" and is inevitable.

Have not seen anything I dislike

Nothing I don't like, they'll all good

I can't think of any.

The formatting is lousy on my Mac whether I'm using IE, Safari or whatever. You need to get someone who can format your articles so they display properly. I pick mine up via Affinity-Webmail and they do NOT format properly.

Sometimes too preachy

Photo in not needed. Hard to print out

too long

Sometime too much info

Sometimes the articles are too wordy without helping the subject.

Nothing, you all do a fantastic job!

Sometimes an article doesn't interest me but not ery often.

Running two articles in parallel in emails - makes it more difficult to read.

Sometimes there's no background on the author

honestly I don't have a negative...sorry

Just like 'em.

they take more time than I have to read.

Is there a topic you'd like to see in future articles?

Speaking against using illegal drugs among parents and therefore teens and younger children!

Any headway in medical research i.e. cancer

Something about calvinism and what effect it had on the historical decision to balance powers in our government

Holiness Prayer

Christians and the economy

Haven't thought about it.

More on the liberals revised history and what the correct history is 2. More on the way liberals think (guess you can call it that) and how they got that way - ex. deconstruction of our language and writings of conservatives and forefathers 3. They have gotten control of our educational system - all the way down to the elementary level. We need more awareness of this and also more ways the average citizen can help reverse this trend. 4. More on the sexualization of our children and what we can do about it. 5. More on how Christian churches aren't so Christian anymore - the New Chrisitanity. Libs are usurping our legitimate terms - evangelical, Christian, etc. 6. HIV - the public is getting a raw deal. In the process of trying to make homosexuality into an acceptable alternative life style, our youths are not getting the truth about the perils of that lifestyle. It is being covered up.

No answer at the moment.

sholarship links for african countries

... I'll have to wait until I have experience with it to assess

You seem to be highly skilled at picking topics I find "hot"

Choices have been satisfactory.

More on the faith/beliefs of America's Founding Fathers

the abuse of people by banks, lending institutions and credit agencies, and how they are sanctioned by law ... banks are making MILLIONS on interest charged, and paying PENNIES on savings accounts - credit cards are ungoverned and monolithic entities with sanction to suck consumers dry - predatory lending is rampant (pawn shops - "check-loans" - etc.) ... how about this for a series

I have enjoyed whatever has been covered.

What's working in reaching people with the Gospel

ecology, globalisation, water, world health, education,

Keep up the good work. You already have lots of variety on your topics.

I can see that there is more to the issue than I've been using. How about some suggestions on how to use the different features

More cultural articles and less political ones.

You have done a good job of choosing topics I wouldn't have been aware of

Grace vs liberalism and mercy vs tolerance. As Christians in today's world it seems we sometimes confuse these issues. Grace and mercy are God initiated, while liberalism and tolerance are things man has initiated. I believe there are big differences, but sometimes liberalism and tolerance subtly creep into our churches.

Internet evangelism

Articles promoting religious tolerance, understanding and respecting the views of others. That's what America is all about,

The survey lacks a 'N/A' for those of us who have not visited the sections. I cannot comment on userfulness of the Letters to the Editor and the Links, so I just checked USEFUL not wanting to bias the survey in either direction.

gay marriage

I would like to give more thought to these questions. I may submit another entry later.

Whatever your doing keep doing it.

To ask the question openly declares you are not seeking the Holy Spirit for insight... In this day and age we need God's point of view not another opinion... people are being carried away by ideas... we need to be centered by the leading of the Holy Spirit... Try prayer and fasting and don't stop until you know that you know... It's getting dark out there and people need more then thought stimulation they need insight into the heart of God and revelation... Bless you all for your efforts... We pray you will be swept up into the love of Jesus...

I'll trust your judgment

I have been fascinated in the thought process of the "artistic community". Why is it that most artists, musicians, directors and actors see themselves as an enlightened group, with a knowledge that in their worldview trumps the realities outside of the world they have created for themselves. It bothers me that they see themselves as more sensitive, more peaceful and more than willing to accomodate evil in someone else's world if only their world is left alone. How can they espouse a more one world socialistic view and at the same time feel they are the only ones who can operate outside of that same world they wish for others? I fail to see how they can dismiss the evil of a Sadaam Hussein, the horrors going on in the African Continent, the misery that encompasses the world and single out the United States as a "new gulag", poring over every mistake this country makes (and we do make mistakes) but appear to miss the overall picture of what is going on in the real world. Where do they come up with this? Where is the genesis of such thinking?

Topics relating biblical Christianity to life and culture especially ethics, science and government

The foundations and sources of Japanese, Arabic, and other shame-based cultures--how do they get to be that way, and in what way do their values differ from ours?

I would like to see more articles with calls to action. Actions that can be taken quickly and easily online.

restorative justice and capital punishment

I do not agree with Ched Myers positions on some issues, but there are others where he is much more Biblically attuned than your writers.

An article that discusses, and possibly defines, "postmodernism" with some examples would be nice.

No.

Less political partisanship and greater emphasis on the need for Christians to live in harmony with other religions.

expound on the latest information about divorce.

I'd like to see someone write about how the "right" doesn't really get it and the "left" doesn't get it at all. When I say "it", I mean Christianity, to really be His, not a close-minded member of one political party or another. I heard a pastor talking from the pulpit about how godly our current president is and I had to leave. Some people are comparing President Bush to Hitler.

Not at this time. You guys are on the cutting edge already.

Other pseudo-science issues relating to Evolution, etc. Exposure to quality evangelical blogs like Jim Berkley, Hugh Hewitt, Mark Roberts, Stand to Reason, etc.

Let me respond to both links and to your main article format. I am a pastor. I found some of your articles: (We have a Pope, Willard to graduates, Crusades) all very good, worth printing, reading and marking, and putting in my files for teaching or sermon use. I wish you had a button as many online sources do for converting article content for printer accessibility. I have to spend a long time clicking and pasting and reformatting to get a good TTS article in format I can use for research and teaching.

The danger of attaching one's self to a political party- Mainline churches to Democrat, or Evangelicals to Republican. What is it that Christians do best that would win more of the world over if we promoted that with the same energy we rightly speak prophetically against the darkness.
